No White Cast: Daily Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin — AESTURA Derma UV365 Barrier Hydro Mineral Sunscreen

Hi everyone, it's Emily 🌷

Now that summer's in full swing, I'm out and about more than ever — and with the sun beating down harder each day, sunscreen has become the one step I never skip before heading out.

As someone with very sensitive skin, finding a sunscreen that actually agrees with me has always been a challenge. So today I'm sharing the one I keep reaching for lately.

Meet the AESTURA Derma UV365 Barrier Hydro Mineral Sunscreen

SPF50+ / PA++++ · 40 mL

AESTURA is a Korean dermatological skincare brand (part of Amorepacific) known for focusing on sensitive, barrier-compromised skin. This one is a mineral (physical) sunscreen made for skin that's dry, weakened, or easily irritated by the sun — pairing strong UV protection with barrier care.

Why a mineral sunscreen?

Mineral sunscreens work by forming a thin layer on the skin's surface that reflects UV rays, instead of absorbing them the way chemical (organic) filters do. For sensitive skin, that often means less irritation.

A quick note if you're new to Korean sunscreens: SPF50+ rates protection against UVB (the rays behind sunburn), while PA++++ — the highest level — rates protection against UVA (the rays linked to premature aging). So this one has you covered on both fronts.

It's also passed a skin-irritation test and an eye-comfort in-use test — and true to that, it didn't sting or make my eyes water the way some sunscreens do.

The star: "Barrier Hydro Ceramide™"

What sold me is that it doesn't just block the sun — it looks after a stressed skin barrier at the same time:

  • Ceramide NP — helps care for a weakened skin barrier
  • Hyaluronic Acid — draws in moisture to keep skin hydrated
  • Allantoin — soothes sensitized skin

What the brand's testing showed

According to AESTURA's in-use clinical testing, after a single application:

  • 98% improvement in temporary redness
  • 71% improvement in the skin barrier
  • 316% increase in skin moisture immediately after use

How it actually feels

This is where it won me over. There's none of that thick, chalky feeling you get with a lot of mineral sunscreens, and no white cast — my skin never looks ashy or ghostly.

The texture is like a lightweight lotion: soft and matte on top, hydrated underneath. Makeup goes on smoothly over it without pilling or separating, which makes it genuinely easy to wear every day. It settles into a soft, healthy glow with a "barely-there" finish — the kind that looks like skin, not sunscreen 🤍

💡 Tip

To keep the protection going, reapply every 2–3 hours when you're out and about.

Who I'd recommend it to

  • Anyone who wants solid sun protection without the irritation
  • Mineral-sunscreen fans who can't stand the heavy feel or white cast
  • Dry, sensitive, or barrier-compromised skin

If choosing a sunscreen has always felt like a gamble for your sensitive skin, this is a gentle, easy one to start with 🌿
